Slings
Individuals who have mobility issues and require equipment to assist with moving and transferring, may require mechanical equipment such as hoists to support such transfers. These come in a range of products to assist with active standing, or for more supportive lifting if the person is unable to weight bear; dependent on the individual's condition and needs.

Whatever type of hoist that you are using the most important component of any hoist system is the SLING; as this is the interface between the user and the hoist. We supply a range of slings, both Standard and more Specialist that fit a multitude of hoists and user needs/conditions.

Please do however check each sling range for compatibility with the hoist you are planning to use. Our Universal sling range and Standard brand of slings fit the majority of hoist manufacturers in the UK, Europe and the Americas.

Each Sling / product carries information on application type (bathing, seat to stand, supine to seated etc.) as well as support type, user physicality, lift type (i.e. passive, active, extensive) FIM score, material, sizing, attachment type, and weight. Examples are shown below:

  • Application Type: Bathing; Seated to Standing; Seated to Seated; Supine to Seated; Toileting.
  • Lift Type: Passive Lift – end user can maintain passivity or has limited mobility; Active Lift – end user is active and can participate in transfer; Extensive Lift – end user has limited body control and/or suffers from extreme extensions
  • Support Type: Whole body and head; Whole body including shoulders: Hips and lower back; Lower back.
