Induction/Foundation
Course Aim: This course is designed to enable course participants to begin to develop the basic knowledge required for the identification of hazards, assessment of risk and following of safe systems of work, whilst also developing the practical skills required to move and handle people and objects efficiently, with the minimum of risk of injury to both themselves and the persons being assisted/handled within a variety of care settings.
Who should attend? All workers at all levels who are actively involved, or responsible for supervising staff with moving and handling of people within the health or social care sector.

Safe Use of Equipment (Foundation)
Course Aim: This course is designed, to enable course participants to begin to develop the basic knowledge required in how to use standard items of equipment associated with assisting people to move. It will explain the factors necessary for participants to ensure their own, the person being handled, and other’s safety.
Who should attend? All workers at all levels who are actively involved, and/or responsible for supervising staff, in the use of hoists, slings and other equipment; including small handling aids, whilst moving and handling of people within the health or social care sector.

Safe Use of Equipment (Advanced)
Course Aim: This course is designed, to enable course participants to begin to develop a more detailed knowledge in use of standard hoists and slings associated with assisting people to move, as a means to identify remedial measures, to reduce the risks of injury to carers and service users and understand the importance of ergonomic solutions within the risk assessment process when advising in the safe use of equipment.
Who should attend? All workers who are actively involved in using and/or are responsible for supervising staff in the use of hoists and slings, whilst moving and handling of people within the health or social care sector who need a greater level of skills and knowledge than foundation level.

Course Aim: This course is designed, to enable course participants to begin to develop the basic knowledge required in how to use standard hoists and related slings associated with assisting people to move. Course Aim: To enable course participants to develop the practical skills and knowledge required for educating and supporting staff within their workplace in the theory and practice of efficient moving and handling of people and objects in health and social care settings.
Who should attend? Managers, supervisors and those with a responsibility for educating employees in their workplace in the theory and practice of efficient moving and handling of people and object handling within the health or social care sector, and the associated requirements of manual handling risk assessment.

Course Aim: To enable course participants to update and continue to develop their practical skills and knowledge required for educating and supporting staff within their workplace in the theory and practice of efficient moving and handling of people and objects in health and social care settings.
Who should attend? Delegates who have fully completed an 8 Day Moving & Handling Key Person/Risk Assessor Course and associated course work, with a responsibility for educating or supervising employees in their workplace in the theory and practice of efficient moving and handling of people and object handling within the health or social care sector, and the associated requirements of manual handling risk assessment.
